OLGA CERDA ALANIZ

With a heavy heart and sorrow we are saying goodbye to the last of the Cerda siblings, Olga Cerda Alaniz, age 94. Olga C. Alaniz passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, surrounded by family. Olga C. Alaniz of Dos Palos, California, was born in Edcouch, Texas on August 1,1932 to Francisco Cerda and Cecilia Cavazos Cerda. She was predeceased by her parents: Francisco Cerda and Cecilia Cerda (Cavazos); her husband Horacio Alaniz Sr, her siblings, Ruben, Rodolfo, Francisco Jr. Cerda, Rebecca Lerma, Raquel Zuniga, and Maria Olivia Escalante (Guera); and her grandchildren, Michelle Alaniz, Eduardo Ibarra Jr, and Jaylen Gonzales. She is survived by her children: Horacio Alaniz Jr, Maria Ninfa Ortiz, Ricardo Alaniz, Cristy Furman and Lori Gonzales, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. With Olga's passing, the Cerda sisters shared love of dancing and Tejano music comes to a close, but their joy, rhythm, and spirit will carry on in all who loved them. [more]
